Service Animals

Service and assistant dogs, including those in training are welcomed at DFO Brisbane. The service animal must always be kept with the handler it is accompanying and be identifiable as working. This includes a harness, lead or vest that indicates their status.

For assistance animals which are not dogs, handlers will be required to provide evidence that the animal is trained to assist a person with a disability and meet standards of hygiene and behaviour that are appropriate for an animal in a public place as per (enter guideline).

Should the service animal require relief, there is a leafy green zone located outside the 18th Avenue entrance.

Emotional support animals are not permitted within the centre if they are there to provide comfort but have no undergone official training to alleviate the effect of a disability. DFO Brisbane staff or security may request evidence of proper accreditation.

Seating

As customers navigate through the centre, seating has been placed strategically to provide convenient resting spots for quick pit stops in between shops. The food court also offers ample seating, providing a place to refuel and recharge.

Guest Lockers

Customers that need to store personal items or baggage can do so at the luggage lockers, located between the corridor of Converse and Under Armour. These lockers are card operated with fees starting at $13 for a small locker and up to $18 for a larger locker. These are accessible during centre trading hours.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

DFO Brisbane proudly takes part in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme, dedicated to supporting and raising awareness for individuals with hidden disabilities.

DFO Brisbane staff recognise that some disabilities, conditions or chronic illnesses are not immediately visible and have been trained to recognise the sunflower lanyard and provide customers with help needed at any stage of their journey. When in centre, feel free to approach any staff members for help.

Customers who identify with having a hidden or invisible disability, can collect a lanyard from our Customer Service Desk located in the food court or Centre Management Office, located in the corridor next to Rodd and Gunn to wear as a subtle way of letting the centre employees and retailers know that additional support may be required.
