So you’re bored in the house and you’re in the house bored – we get it. Once you’ve binge watched all of Netflix and baked your fifth loaf of banana bread you might be looking for the next thing to keep your mind occupied. Well, we have the perfect afternoon activity that will leave your mind and wardrobe feeling cleansed!

Let’s talk wardrobe culling. Hands up who has a dress lurking in the back of the cupboard that never fit quite right or some sweats that have seen better days? Now is the time to look through EVERYTHING and figure out what needs to be re-homed, gifted or donated. Our rule of thumb is if it hasn’t been worn during the previous season (ie sweaters in winter or sundresses in summer) then it is probably time to say goodbye.

Once you’ve made some room in your wardrobe, take stock of what remains and identify any gaps that may now exist. Now, it’s time to start that Pinterest board and plan! Read on for our six key pieces to build your new perfect wardrobe.

The Blazer: A true wardrobe hero, the blazer is our go-to piece to spice up a jeans and tee combo, or create a corporate vibe for work. The Lindsay Relaxed Blazer from Decjuba is the perfect oversized fit for effortless French girl chic.

The Tailored Pant : The easiest way to fake actually being put together on a Monday morning? A tailored pair of pants. Pair the Review Turner Pant with everything from a tank to a sweater for an easy corporate dressing hack. For important meetings add a blazer, your power pumps and a red lip to channel your inner Miranda Priestly (and if you haven’t re-watched The Devil Wears Prada in the past month, you need to add it to your ISO watch list immediately).

The Tee: Every wardrobe needs some basic tees and we particularly love the Just Jeans Perfect Boyfriend Tee. Slightly oversized with a soft V neck, this piece can do double duty as your new workwear or off duty essential.

The Jumper: Upgrade your winter looks with a bright jumper, like the Adele Sweater from GUESS. Featuring a fun take on a nautical stripe and button detail on the shoulder, tuck into denim, a skirt or your tailored pants and let this piece elevate your wardrobe game.

The White Blouse: No wardrobe is complete without a white blouse and we can’t go past the Celestial Tie Front Blouse by Forecast. Keeping it classic with a button-down front, the front tie detail adds a point of interest. Pair with the tailored pant for work or with high waisted denim on the weekend.

The Tank Dress: Round out your wardrobe essentials with the ultimate Kristi Bodycon Midi Dress from Cotton On. It hugs you in all the right places and has a slightly longer hemline, making it perfect for work or for play. We would pair this with a denim jacket and some platform sneakers for a relaxed date night look!
